The List of Things That Will Not Change

A fiction book written by Rebecca Stead through a young girl’s perspective named Bea whose parents have divorced. When Bea’s parents first tell her about the divorce, they give her a notebook containing a list of things that would not change. The list includes things like her mom and dad loving her always and always having a home with each of her parents. As the years pass, Bea’s parents keep their promise regarding the list, but Bea’s father decides to marry his gay partner, Jesse. Like any child growing up Bea goes through a string of issues like stress, anxiety, and anger. A book that parents can use to open a dialogue about their own issues as well as show how other people deal with complicated life matters.
