A non-fiction book of ten stories about students at Latimer Middle School. Each story is within ten blocks of the school and ends with each student at home at the end of the day. The first story called Look Both Ways deals with Jasmine Jordan who is dealing with sickle cell anemia and TJ who was in foster care. The second story is about the four kids called the Low Cuts who bring problems to Latimer Middle School but are bonded by being children of cancer patients. Every subsequent story is about such things as being traumatized by a dog bite, a family member with dementia, crushes, and anxiety. An excellent book to add to a child’s private collection that will help children reflect on their own circumstances as well as others.
