A picture book by Ezra Jack Keats about a little boy who is getting a new baby sister. Parents will enjoy reading this book to children who have a new sibling because it will help them process the experience. Equally, teachers can provide this book to their students for early readers. The illustrations are simple and not overwhelming, which is perfect for early readers that may get easily overwhelmed. The story begins with Peter playing with his dog until he realizes his parents are taking his crib and chair to paint it pink for the new baby. Peter is not very happy about this and decides to run away with his stuff to the front of the house. Eventually, he realizes he is too big for the chair and comes to terms with the changes.
