A book of poems from author Marilyn singer and illustrator Josee Massee using familiar fairytales. Every poem has a picture filled with vibrant colors and delightful illustrations. The various poems have names like “In the Hood,” which is a take on the “Little Red Riding Hood” and “The Doubtful Duckling” which is taken from “The Ugly Duckling.” The poems are written in reverse order, but the reader should not worry because the poem will take on meaning in both directions. Teachers can use these poems to show how language can be radically manipulated and still take on meaning.
