A graphic novel written by Robie H. Harris and illustrated by Michael Emberley about subjects from sex and sexuality to birth and babies. Written for children to understand delicate subjects that are sometimes difficult for parents to explain. The book uses comic-style drawings with bright colors that bring the characters and subjects to life. The characters are kid-friendly with a comical bird and bee discussing the science behind these subjects. There are many well-drawn diagrams such as the difference between male and female as well as an explanation of how people go through puberty. Other subjects include the sperm meeting the egg, the female womb during pregnancy, birth, love, sex, HIV and AIDS, chromosomes and genes, adoption, homosexuality, and babies. Teachers will appreciate the comic book style of the book because it makes the book interesting for children and simplifies a difficult subject for adults.
