AASL Blog https://knowledgequest.aasl.
This blog is the most useful blog for a librarian. It provides topics on the most important needs of librarians today. Some of those include advocacy/leadership, collection development, inclusivity, and national school library standards. Also, it has news regarding AASL and related educational news. I’m following it because I want to be knowledgeable about the latest trends and laws affecting librarians' jobs.
Epic Reads https://www.epicreads.com/blog/
An excellent book review blog about young adult literature. The design is not overwhelming and is easy to read. Right away I felt comfortable reading through the website with the large font and easy-to-navigate sub-pages. Also, it provides helpful lists, upcoming, bestsellers, and new release areas to read. I choose this site because of its simplicity in navigation and its up-to-date literature reviews.
Ed Tech Vision http://edtechvision.org/
Ed Tech Vision is a blog on educational technology which caught my attention because of the simple design and interesting articles. The first article I read was about creating memes for classrooms or libraries. It provides wonderful examples of what a teacher can use for their class. Also, other articles include applications on providing feedback to students and using screencasting in the classroom. The articles are short and to the point with recommendations on types of screencasting applications. I like this blog because the articles are short, to the point, and it discusses relevant technology for the library and classroom.
School Library Journal Blog https://www.slj.com/?subpage=Blogs
The SLJ blog has various articles by many different authors about things like book reviews, censorship, classrooms, diversity, and school libraries. The design is a little overwhelming with the amount of text on the initial screen, but making the font bigger with your browser will fix this issue. What sparked my interest in this blog was the network of links to many other interesting blogs as well as reviews about board games, comic books, and Star Wars Adventures books.
Common Sense Media Blog https://www.commonsensemedia.org/blog
The Common Sense Media blog is a blog about anything related to media that can help parents decide what's best for their children. Also, this is an excellent guide for librarians on how to pick items that are appropriate for children as well as educating parents about issues in libraries. Issues and ideas that this website explores are diversity, censorship, social media, gaming, and technology. I like this website for its easy-to-read design, soft colors, and interesting articles.

Great blogs to follow. I especially like the AASL blog so that I can keep more up to date with library information as I dive deeper into this career. I also like your Common Sense Media blog from the parent perspective. My children are not quite to the age where I have to worry about what they are seeing online, but I know it will be here before I know it. Having a resource like this will be very helpful.
